I mean as a lawyer following rules its pretty basic. If the judge says dont bother me about x until thursday and you call them on tuesday they are not gonna be happy with you

Boundaries are boundaries, whether they are personal or business.

As my dearly departed father used to say "Hey! Dims da rules! Ya don't like it, hit da bricks!"
He was quite the teddy bear.

"Knows how to have an inside/outside voice."

This should be a requirement for all job postings.

I watched this twice so that I could pause it and see what you’re looking for in the lawyer. There’s a lot more rapping involved than I expected.

at least he puts it on the listing. i worked a non lawyer spot & it didnt say that but calling or coming in would end up with an application in the trash 🤔 😢

I worked for a construction company and the rule was to check engine oil daily. One morning the boss called in a few drivers before they left the yard and asked to see inspection reports. All looked good. Everything checked off. Then the boss brought out several dipsticks from the break room and asked how did the drivers checked the oil this morning since the dipsticks were removed last night. That question didn't have a good answer .

Ok, but can we talk about the job description?!?! That's gold. 😂😂

On one hand being a lawyer is all about the rules.

On the other hand, job postings nowadays are the wild west of AI and unrealistic expectations. Ignoring a "do not call" is something some people think you gotta do to land a job in this economy.

Honestly, I respect you for putting yourself in a potentially tougher situation and passing up on the easy choice of ‘what I want is right in front of me’ in exchange for a harder search based off of one boundary.

Considering the job of lawyer is all about the fine details to get what you want while still following the rules its a good rule to have.
After all the caller either hasn't read the full description (so probobabily an error and mistrial making machine) and/or has little regard for appearances (giving your firm a slimey reputation, hurting future cases).

It's annoying how many people seem to think that rules don't apply to them. It's everyone else's responsibility to show them that they're wrong.

My favorite part of this is the assumption that this screencap was taken from Mike's Indeed profile, and he himself only has 7 of 10 skills they're looking for 😂

Ive done the same thing. We were slammed at work and most our customers preferred to call. I needed to be free in case my team all had calls and I needed to jump in. So I put no calls on the job posting. When people would call I'd find their resume and throw it away.

it’s a tough one specifically for law. you want someone with reading comprehension lol. otherwise, i’d be fine just telling them to apply online and checking their app later when it comes in.

Bet their Boomer parents pressured them into calling.

“Go to court, wear fancy suit, and eat hot chip” has me dying laughing 😂

Im sure they were conflicted about calling. Maybe you were looking for someone who has a great desire for the job who would do what it takes to win. Ive been in the same spot, called and got the job. He said "it says not to call!". But you called anyway. Yes sir, I really want this job and I wanted to stand out. I got the job
