At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.

These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.

We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.

You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

I live in Hawaii and I had to dig up a large avocado tree stump but the roots grew into solid rock. A good tip to help get the tree out is to use a sawzall and cut any big roots that the machine can’t break. A root that has a 5” diameter will add about 10, 000 lbs of break out force so cutting it makes a big difference when trying to get it loose.

Digging around the tree before cuttung the tree down allows you to use the trees top weight to up end the tree. You can rock the tree back and forth until it falls down using your digger and then cut the tree up. That method has worked for me while I was clearing the land for the new house.

From one old man to another, all those years as an operator are showing up in his OPERATION! You go old man, rock-on!!!

You got that stump out! The first thing I do is always work as much of the dirt off the stump roots as possible. Maybe not in your case but sometimes the dirt weighs as much as the stump, either way it will make it easier.

Aside from the advances in computer technology, nothing in my lifetime qualifies for more admiration and respect than. . . HYDRAULICS. Just imagine how fast those Egyptians could have been erecting the Pyramids if they had the use of hydraulic lifters and fluid. Amazing how such a small/medium size machine can do so much heavy work. I want to rent one just to play with it.

Joe makes the machine look like a extension of his arm. So nice to watch.

Nice job. Persistence and patience pays off with those big ones! Interesting deal with that second stump and rock!

There's a much better easier way. I just poured 1/2 teaspoon of stump rot (Potassium Nitrate) and let it sit for 120 years, poof, stump was gone.

That stump is definitely larger than what this size machine should be engaging but in the hands of someone that has the experience running equipment they end up getting things done. good job sir.

If you have to move these stumps again you may consider cutting some additional wood off of them. That was really interesting how that second tree enveloped the rock.

Really well done. Got the right angles to compliment the narration, or got the narration right after a lot of footage. Whenever the footage made me question what was going on, the narration was right there to explain. Excellent backhoe and camera work.

This was a great video! That big rock could be used many ways, probably could even sell it. Good thing the tractor was around to help with getting the big stump rolled out. Take care!
