I did a time machine backup from my old Intel mac into my new M1 mac. Everything seems to be working perfectly. The only two issues were I had to make my iTerm2 terminal open using Rosetta and all when I try to reinstall Brew exactly as you are doing in the video it continues to install it in the /usr directory. ..

Rule # 1 If you're installing HomeBrew, be patient with the installation process.
Thank you for the great tutorial. ❤

The two commands it tells you to run as the next steps for me to not get "command not found: code" I copied the first command then pasted. Following this first command I typed a space, then two ampersands, then another space, lastly I copied and pasted the second command, then pressed enter.

He doesn't mention this, and I don't get why, but if it looks like TERMINAL IS NOT LETTING YOU TYPE THE PASSWORD, it is, you just can't see that you're typing it and they do that on purpose for security reasons and such.

I followed up until 0:49 but this is what I ended up getting:
"fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.
Failed during: git fetch --force origin

I dont have any of the above models, I'm using a 2015 macbook air. When I pasted the line as instructed I didn't get an installation successful line, only "downloading command line tool for XCode". How can I fix this?

Thanks for this. I received an error "/bin/bash: line 186: /usr/local/bin/git: Bad CPU type in executable Failed during: git init -q" after homebrew. Any thoughts on fixing this error
