I loved his car so much that when CMC Diecast Model Cars created one, I had to have it.  It's the # 26 car of Alberto Ascari, raced at the 1955 Monaco GP.  For those not familiar with the CMC brand, they are from Germany and make some of the finest, most detailed scale models you can buy.  I also purchased the rolling chassis of the same car and display it along side the complete one.  They are stunning to look at and the detail must be seen to be really appreciated - about 1, 800 parts!  The model has a perfect paint job and the machined aluminum wheels with stainless steel spokes look incredible.  The V8 engine is offset, just like the original car.  Understandably, they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for with this company.  About the only thing missing is the great sounds these machines produced!

Gorgeous car. So beautifully balanced with those pannier tanks.
It was a little bit of a shame when they were faired into the body.
