Amnesia will always be remembered as the game that terrified a whole generation of those who thought they knew 'horror' and revolutionised the genre.

I don't know exactly... Daniel did a lot of bad things, even if he was forced to do that by someone like Alexander. But he made it through all this insanity, darkness and fear. Maybe he deserves to live because he was strong enough to fight and strong enough to end this horrible history. This theme is very personal, it's like his own tragedy, nobody can help him, and even someone who offered some help (Alexander) just used him for his personal goal. He is purely alone, and he's still alive. And he has to live with everything he has done.

God, I'm still in love with this game even after 4 years. One of the best (if not the best) game ever, for me at least.

Even though you can only really "know" Daniel through the diaries and the actions he takes during the game, it's amazing how easy it was to get into his character.

I really appreciated the voice acting. Being able to hear his madness and desperation was startling. Then, hearing the intense regret and pain in his voice when he finally realized what he'd done...I wanted to cry along with him.

Very few games can take me through such a vast range of emotions. Such a great experience.

As the darkness consumes you, you realize what is wrong. you're a murderer, and you know it. but how?
This is amnesia, Regaining your Dignity and Facing evil to punish your sins and destroy all that has gone wrong and only hope you're forgiven. That somehow you can return to your real and true life. not this, just not this...

I love this song so much! It basically describes everything Daniel/the player was feeling throughout the game. Starting with confusion and creepypastas, then to small discoveries, to understanding just how significant and horrifying this whole episode with Alexander was, to the extreme sorrow/depression that Daniel realizes he will never be forgiven for… not even from himself. Finally, at the end of it all he makes a final charge to set as much right as he can against all his fears and threats. And The last couple notes just put an end to the tragedy. Beautiful
