The American healthcare system is a tragic comedy.

Seeing this from the U.K. is just unbelievable, how patients/customers have to choose which hospital/network then have to decide and then question every test and hospital worker if the insurance covers them before anything happens. UNBELIEVABLE once more.

One of the women involved says "consumers who do due diligence" - you are not consumers, you are patients. Everyone in the developed world and some parts of the so-called undeveloped world are thinking - What does in-network mean? Those are the people with universal health care.

I have same situation. I had c- section 4 weeks ago and they sent me $6000 bill because of out of network “assistant surgeon” used during the procedure. My insurance said the same to me.. “ I chose out of network surgeon” even though I didn’t. Please advise me who I should contact to resolve this?
