State lawmakers call on Bank of America to help fix frozen EDD debit card accounts

Dozens of California lawmakers sent a letter to the CEO of Bank of America asking for answers and solutions for people locked out of their EDD debit cards.

i have been having this same issue for 3 months! it’s insane. I have had EDD tier 2 reps tell me that they sent over the notification to unlock my account and my account was never unlocked with BofA. BofA always just tells me to call EDD. Ridiculous.

This is exactly why i took all my money out of Bank of America and put it into my Golden 1 account!! Plus i buried some money in case banks close all together..

I just got my card frozen by B of A
On 12/27/2020 in CA, They told me there waiting for EDD to send them a verification / notification that there isn't any fraud on my account, EDD confirmed to me that there was never a fraud case generated by them, That it was all Bank of America.

my card was frozen from December to now the edd made payments the whole time I see all payments made on edd portal but now my card is unfrozen but the funds are in thin air . any advice ? thanks

It's been 4 months mine been froZen I'm in debt peeing 5000 in rent bills car note I've been asking brothers for money narrowing I've been canning just to get dog food gas for my car it's been very hard now I have medical problems

BofA froze my accounts after a month and a half of dealing with Edd and confirmation my Edd was good standing not sure what to do tried everything

The cloned edd card been also happening now. The people with cloned card also able to take money from other banks. I am here wondering i if this happen from inside job of bank of america? Because I have never experienced it with others.And when I asked BOFA what they do as far as investigation BoFA said they can't perform any investigation to a closed account even after they explained to me the first time they won't closed it, I just need to change card and dispute the unauthorized transaction. Been trying to talk to EDD for these past 2 month, yet no response.

They made me filled put a form trough the phone called review form they ask me of my hardships and told me to keep calling to see if theres any update to remove the freeze account anyone going through this I’ve done everything verifying my self freeze trackers ext smh any help

I don’t mess with debit cards. They are not safe. I had a criminal clone mine and start taking money out of my checking account!

Good luck on that.... By the way, how long are you on hold these days to get a hold of claims? Cause we only get a call every 30-45mins. And most of the calls have nothing to do with claims. Just speaking as an agent from BOA Claims initiation.
