Navitronic PGU 1 Path Guidance Unit 1985 teardown

a bit rusty unit., maybe spend a bit too many years out on the sea :-)
all digital, no cpu or such, I belive this whole unit is a readout unit only,
Quite a lot of them lovely Neon panaplex beckman SP-333 and SP-332
for that alone it was a super score.

I use auto generated subs, I go thru them my self, but i am far from perfect at finding all errors, so if you find errors worth fixing, please comment (or PM) with the TIME in the video you saw the error, i will be happy to fix it. This also apply to the Danish version.

There has to be more to this unit than just a readout, no? The analog meter plus the front panel switches. A/B, reset, PT/STB, 1-6? Who knows what those things do! Anyway thanks for sharing. This is such a cool device!

How are you supposed to earth the device if it's mounted in a boat ? 🤔Can sea water be considered as an earth point ? 🤨

Could you connect the LCD display and simulate its operation using, for example, an arduino? I have a lot of similar displays and I haven't seen anyone make a video on how to use them...
