We have the budget offroading ute, the 2021 Ford Ranger FX4. Then there is the higher trim, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak. Lastly, we have the king of the offroad hill, the 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor. The Ranger Raptor may be the biggest, but it serves a certain purpose. The same can be applied to the 2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrak, and the budget friendly Ford Ranger FX4. What do you get for your money? In this Filipino car review, we get to find out. The 2020 Ranger Wildtrak may be the middle level ute here, but the FX4 offers fantastic value for the money as well. 4:50 The raptor mounts coil springs for rear suspensions which are softer and aren't really meant for heavy loads. I guess they intended to improve riding comfort and give it that sport performance when driving on rugged terrain. The other two mount the classic leaf spring set up which is tougher and give your vehicle a higher loading capacity.
I would say the Raptor is more of a recreational vehicle. You know... for FUN!
I'm not sure though for the engine reliability. Putting a double turbo on a relative '' small'' engine is meant to increase it's performance and output power. Wouldn't that undermine the life of the engine in the long run? My guess is that they wanted to appeal to the European market as well with this engine set up. Because the smaller the engine the less you pay for tax and insurance plans in EU. So i guess they had to opt for a 2.0 engine but solve the lack of power with two turbos.

My 2014 ranger still strong today. 3000 miles oil changing is better depend on driving condition, heavy load etc

Without this video, I would have never known that the Raptor has LESSER braked towing limit and payload limit than the FX4 and Wildtrak. The Raptor was my top choice against the Navarra and Dmax because right now, I'm looking for a pickup suitable for my business that is located outside the city and will require off-road capabilities considering I'll be hauling a lot of things. *sigh*
