Aerial view of Regru village beyond Abbott Mount, Almora | Misty monsoon in the Himalaya

Abbott Mount is an old British times hill station in Kumaon, close to Champawat, Devidhura and in the general Almora district. Today, those owning the old bungalows there have no legal standing or valid paperwork, as the British changeover did not lead to proper property ownership. However, the views of the Kumaon peaks of Nanda Devi and Trishul are fabulous, as is the proximity of the Saryu and the Sarda rivers and fabulous mahseer fishing close to the Nepal border, along the Kali river as well.

Monsoon makes the weather in the Himalaya misty, the visibility drops drastically and it's difficult to see anyone standing 10 meters away. Regru is a small village in Uttarkashi beyond Abbott Mount and Lohaghat.
