Simon Sound Service - Pembroke Recording Studio. Recorded mid to late 1950s. Band of the Royal Horse Guards (The Blues), conducted by Captain James E. Thirtle, Director of Music.
This would appear to have been recorded for a radio broadcast as there is an announcer at the beginning.
A magnificent rendition of this great march, one of my all time favourites, only spoilt by a fade out near the end....
Captain James Thirtle was appointed to the Band in 1954 through to 1962, so I'm assuming the date is roughly 1954 to 1959?
