back in the 70's I saw a live taping of The Midnight Special at ABC studios with Helen Reddy & Three Dog Night. They had a young warm up comedian...his name? Steve Martin. His routine was SO odd and different I was LOL while many others around me (like my girlfriend at the time) just sat there....silent. I didn't understand why they didn't "get" this guy's humor! I was hooked right there and been a HUGE fan of Steve's ever since!

I bought his autobiography at garage sale a few years ago. I loved it and it’s since been passed around my friends and they’ve all enjoyed it. If you’re a fan of his films or old school standup, I recommend giving it a read!

I have been a fan since I was a kid. My parents let me watch SNL back in the 1970s when Martin's appearances were first-run. (And I probably watched _The Jerk_ when I was way too young, lol) _L. A. Story_ is still one of my favorite films. He is a national treasure.
