Troubleshooting Networks: The Basics

So when you think about troubleshooting networks, you need to think about troubleshooting areas. So you can start troubleshooting in one area and then move to the next.?

So the main network area types are the LAN and WAN, and each of these types will have different network and security components that need to be troubleshooted. The LAN will run an IGP with Layer 2 switches and Layer 3 routers.

Then on the WAN side of things. Well, if I was to guess, I’m assuming most of this is out of your control. So it's best to have a monitoring solution that can look into all of these underlay and overlay and give you the correct feedback. Hopefully, it will be in one dashboard too.
