Really want to try platinum, I got blonde highlights half a year ago and am planning to dye my hair again once I get into uni.

1- it hurts
2- takes at least 3 hours
3- Changes hair texture (obviously cause you're putting bleach on your hair sherlock)
4- Maintain (Buy purple shampoo)
5- your black roots will grow fast (the platnium goes away fast)


Anyways I been bleaching my hair for over 3 years now. I don't really like my hair long so i always cut it short before bleaching it, then let it grow again (so the roots become healthier) then cut it and bleach it again etc. The worse part is when putting a toner, it burns like HELL. One of the worst pains i have ever felt. So think twice if you're gonna do it.

Great video explaining the whole process. Probably a video on hair colour choices based on skin tone.. Personally, Particularly brown /darker skin tones.. This would be of great help

I just went platinum a week ago, just box dyed it myself, but I felt zero discomfort doing it and my hair texture is still exactly the same (granted my hair is mid/light brown)

I think the thing that complements the new platinum look the most is the hairstyle it self...I've never seen this specific look on joe before...this pushed back short quiff isn't like the signature quiff we know nor the forward quiff we saw in 2018...it feels like a perfect mix in between so kudos to joe for picking the right style...looks great 👍👍👍

When I got my hair bleached platinum blonde and re-done I didn't experience any burning either times, which is surprising considering I have really sensitive skin.

i went platinum on impulse today. was originally thinking of more of an ashy color but it turned out super white w a purple undertone. this was sooo helpful

It actually shouldnt itch or hurt at all. There are different lightener brands and you may be sensitive or allergic to the brand he used.

I decided to go platinum from a similar hair color as joe, just shorter hair. my hair looked exactly like his in this video for the first 1-2 weeks. i took "noyellow" silver shampoo, which is exactly the kind of purple shampoo he suggested to use in this video. as i wanted my hair to be more silver than what i got, at first i wasn't entirely happy with it. that shampoo is epic, it really is. after like a month and the toner color being gone after a like a week and me using the silver shampoo every other day, my hair color got "colder" bit by bit. that's probably due to the expore to the sun (was in juli - august) and the UV rays kind of bleaching the hair a little more (like when blonde haired people get a lighter blond in summer). from there on the silver shampoo had a better and better effect and i eventually got my silver colored hair which looked fucking epic.

i had my hair cut every like month and after 4-5 months i had my natural hair color back, so i went back to the same hairdresser, same person, same formula etc. this time the bleaching didn't work as good as before and my result was a bit more blond than his platinum style. now, after another month and me using the same shampoo daily (a bit longer than usual every time i apply, 5-10 minutes) my hair consistently looks like joe's does in this video. i'm guessing my hair will get a lighter color within the next month and it gets back more to the silver-ish i want, just takes a bit longer because the initial bleaching wasn't intense enough and sun isn't as intense as during the summer days. also, during the first time, i had my all my hair bleached. at my second session i only had the top bleached, not my sides.

so my next time will be in june and i'm excited because it looked epic af and i would 10/10 recommend anyone who's been thinking about it to do the same. it was a natural fit for me.
