Marcelo Castelli - Live @ Club Plazma, Plovdiv 14-10-2006

Marcelo is originally from Montevideo Uruguay and have been mixing the Candombe sound rhythm that cames from Africa but played by most of the Uruguayans with the electronic music since 1992 .With this particulary sound Castelli had create his own style..
He started his carreer as a profesional dj in the year 1985 .In those days he was very into The Cure,Talking Heads,Echo and The Bunnymen,U2 ,and many of the great 80´s bands.In the year 1988 he started his first residency at
an Undeground club called Graffiti in Montevideo and it was his plataform to start playing electronic music.
Since that year until now he didnt stop.He was resisdent dj at the best clubs in Montevideo and Punta del Este such as Kool Kat,La Locomotive,Zoo,Deeper Milenio,Space,W Lounge for ten years, but it was when he started producing that he made the next step.Showing his talent as producer was the reason of his international recongnition.This came after a long time experimenting and trying to find the best way of working.The coming of new software,computers more accessibles and internet with his experience as a dj was a perfect combination.
Uk Labels Low Pressings and Kismet Records were the first to be impressed by his work,signing the amount of 10 tracks to release 3 records each label in the year 2000/01/02.After that they folllow Hooj Choons,Illustrious,Stereo Productions and Musiq.

At the moment Marcelo Castelli has more than 100 originals tracks,more than 30 records and more than 30 remixes released in excellent labels such as - Kismet ,Low Pressings, Hooj,Alternative Route , Stereo-Productions,Musiq,Fluential ,Cream,Illustrious,Release Grooves,Referense Records,Tribo,Magna,En Soul,Votu, Vibra/Universal, Xplosion Records,Wanted ,Bonita Musica, JellyBean Records and House Work.

And he is now the owner of 6 labels on digital and vinyl ,South American House,Southamerican Groove,MuzikXPress, Soulman Music,Minimo Records and Supermusic Records.

Muzik magazine called him the South American maestro when "Sonar" ,signed to Kismet Records, hit the streets in April 2002. It reached number 13 on the UK based magazine Muzik Magazine as well as high placement on Djs charts from around the globe.
Sonar (Kismet Records) was included in the Best Essential Mix of the year released by Sander Kleinenberg in BBC Radio 1.
With more than 18 years experience as a dj and 15 years as a producer Marcelo Castelli has now travelled over 1 million kms around the world playing his music in the 5 continents and more than 25 countries for crowds in the bests clubs in cities such as:
Moscu, London ,Ibiza , Zurich, Amsterdam,Copenhague, Stockolm Barcelona,Montreal,Hong Kong,Singapore,Kuala Lumpur,Jakarta,Bali,Tokyo, Sofia,Vourgas,Vilnius,Kaunas,Oporto,Algarve,Miami,Atlanta,Mexico City,Acapulco,Panama,Guatemala,Bogota Barranquilla,Cali,Medellin,Lima,Santiago de Chile,Rio,San Pablo,Porto Alegre,Cordoba,Asuncion,Montevideo and Punta del Este .
Almost all his tracks were played in Radio 1 and Kiss Fm in Uk and the best radios from around th world .
His recent project Castelli & Perazzoli – On The Road track on Alternative Route was one of the top summer track in the summer of Europe 2006 ,having several plays on Radio One and was included on Pure Pacha Ibiza 2006 Mixed by Pete Tong.
Legendary Dj Danny Rampling on Dj Mag december 2005 had mention Marcelo Castelli as one of the top 10 future djs.
His oficial CD Mix Tribalism Vol 2 in asociation with Dj Hardware is out now in US.
His remixes of the GRAMMY AWARDS WINNER Los Tangueros for Bajo Fondo Tango Club (Vibra/ Universal) had rich number 2 in the Bilboard Club Play chart in september 2003
