Denying people their basic rights tends to not make them very happy. Treating entire groups of people as second class citizens does not make them happy. I grew up in the sixties. It sucked to be a girl. Girls were required to wear dresses. Boys played “dress up” and pulled up our dresses in the playground. This humiliation was allowed. We couldn’t play without our underwear showing, which was unladylike. The boys got 80% of the playground for sports. That is just a quick snapshot. Let’s not go back.
