Get a flag pole hitch mount for your Explorer. Use the Spiderbeam mast and attach a wire to the ATAS120 with an alligator clip. I found a mount that cleared the tailgate when down. $30 from eBay

Question for you gentlemen: if using a Bioenno 30Ah LifeP04 for portable POTA operation with the IC-7300 is a supercapacitor needed to prevent any damage to radio while transmission? (ie: voltage drop)

I know you may have things planed out for your trip. But if it isn't out of your way I would like you to do a video on POTA at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge! Mount Scott, elevation 2, 464 ft. This would be a 2 for one! POTA for the Refuge and SOTA for Mount Scott that is in the Refuge! And you can drive to the top of Mount Scott! There is parking on top of Mount Scott. Should be able to set up and being that high you should get out very good! I live near there for a long time but was not a HAM! Spent a lot of time out there! Do NOT try to pet the Buffalo! They may seen tame but they are not!! Not sure how the bands will be but at 2464 feet with a lot of flat land around there you should be able to really get out. Will need to use vertical antenna, not much room to use wire antenna if others are up there. I wished I could do that! 73 W4DES
