Changing the Panasonic Cordless Phone Ringer setting

How to change the ringer setting on our Panasonic phone system. This is a model kx-tg6842 (or similar)

Did that and still don't have the phone ringing when someone calls. My phone shows a bell with a slash across it.

This looks like the handset I have but my ringer won't turn back on. I didn't turn it off, my cats did. Knocked the phone over and stepped on it. No idea what they mashed but it turned ringer off. I've tried adjusting volume, turning silent mode off, turning silent mode on, holding down star key... Nothing works.
Edit: I found a website that said if you hold down 2580 simultaneously until it beeps, it will turn the ringer back on. It can also turn the ringer off if it is already on.

Can't increase the number of rings. Phone won't allow the second number 1 entry of #211. My call toPanasonic was endless unhelpful prompts. Help!!!

OR: Press "Menu" then # sign, then key in numbers 160. Then adjust the volume using up and down arrows. Easy peasy.
