This is master class in old school game design, graphics and gameplay. Really hope they will go on with projects like this. So far tengo has never disappointed, this is their best work, even better than ninja warriors.

This is the game that I've been longing for years, I'm soo happy this came in just as awesome shape as the original. And this game has the best NES music of all time.

"Batman Shadows of Gotham" is a hack of Shadow of the Ninja that is perfect. (Batman: Shadows of Gotham - Hack of Shadow of the Ninja [NES])

It'd be cool if this Shadow of the Ninja: Reborn could be modded to that extent

This has been one of my favorite remakes recently, I've beaten it like 4-5 times.
So many more mechanics, but the game doesn't lose its identity.

Fantastic review as always! If anyone is a fan of any 8/16-bit console games with an action-arcade approach I'd thoroughly recommend every one of Tengo Project's recent remakes. Every single one is extremely well done, and absolutely worth playing.

Fantastic game, even if Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is still my personal favourite. Tengo Project just doesn't miss, and it's just a joy watch veterans just flexing their craft.

The original was one of those extremely underrated titles back in the day, one so many of us were familiar with growing up but wasn't getting huge amounts of attention but was universally agreed to be a solid title. Honestly forgot this remake came out despite being curious about it given the studios track record. Immediately wishlisted it and will probably pick it up at some point. Hell I still have my unopened copy of Pocky and Rocky to play so that'll tide me over.

Hot tip: Pulling off the shoryuken move while jumping will let you helicopter in mid air, giving your jump more reach.
