There are four sizes to this reel: a 2000 a 3000 a 4000 and a 5000, the 2000 and the 3000 size are a 5.0:1 gear ratio. As to the four thousand, and the five thousand is a 4.4:1 gear ratio.

We got 22 pounds of ultra-smooth, triple carbon fiber disc drag. We got a seven plus one double shielded stainless steel ball bearings. All right guys, now, if you’re asking yourself, is this real saltwater approved? Yes, it is.

This lightweight spinning reel was built with reinforced corrosion-free nylon body and rotor, with Hamai cut precision alloy gears, manganese brass pinion gear, ceramic line roller, stainless steel hardware, aluminum spool, and built with KastKing’s affordable innovation, all for under 50 bucks.

With this sophisticated color scheme that includes silver purple red, with a lot of attention to detail and sure grip, EVA foam, knob, the Spartacus 2 spinning reel is a sure standout all right.

Let’s get down to what I’m using on this reel, what rod I got it paired with, line and what applications I’m going to use it for. We got 10 pound braid to a 8 pound leader fluorocarbon leader. Guys, if you’re asking: is this spool braid ready like the Speed Demon or the Speed Demon Pro reel, spinning reel? No, it is not. Or the Valiant Eagle? No, it is not, but it’s not to worry.

I have the Spartacus II paired up with a 7 foot, medium heavy two-piece, KastKing Perigee II rod. I have it matched with the medium tip on and I have the medium tip on right now. I’m throwing bottom contact baits. You know this is a slower gear ratio. Spinning reels you will find on the market that most standard spinning reels will be in the four to five to zero to one gear ratio.

I will be throwing a lot of Ned rigs, drop shots, jerk, baits, small jerk baits, little crank baits, and flat sided crank baits to get those real long casts over points or whatever and just slow rolling it.

This is a great reel for that. Also, if you want to go to the flats in Texas, with Magic Yaker and go catch some redfish or some speckled trout, this baby can do it.

I think it would be cool if KastKing tried a DIY reel series. 1 for each type of reel. Then possibly expand if it takes off. What do I mean by diy? All parts come in the box, & the buyer assembles the reel. I know it sounds silly to some. But it would cut cost to the company paying for assembly, buyer would be more confident seeing all the parts, and they could use what grease/lube they prefer. Also their is plenty of kids that would enjoy getting a reel like this. I was that kid that would pick a model rocket to build over a prebuilt one lol

The only thing I don’t like is that you have to manually close the bail. Usually a bail automatically closes upon retrieval.
