From what I've seen it's just a joke! The prices are anywhere from 50% to 100% higher than we can buy from just about any other retail outlet. I could probably still buy any electronic item from Amazon US and have it shipped to Austrlaia for much cheaper, but now they won't let me buy it from the US. So much for all the hype about challenging the retail market in Australia. Don't worry, existing jobs will be safe.

Amazon Australia is disappointing. Costco was disappointing. Aldi is disappointing. Kaufman is disappointing. Aldi hardly ever has anyone in it now compared to when it first started same as Costco. I guess you can't keep prices artificially low indefinitely and the quality is pretty terrible.

Still cheaper to buy from China here in Australia off eBay. Amazon has hard job selling the same products online for the same price as the stores and added shipping prices I think amazon won’t last long here

Really sad parts about the launch here...

It failed on both the soft and actual launch, almost everything in the tech department is upto 30% more expensive than the same product local, seriously, rx 580 for instance is 400 for a strix pro 8gig here and 630 on amazon, same item.

As a first showing... doesn't even compete and our companies gouge the shit out of us as it is, was the 10-30% discount spiel applied in the reverse by accident?

I am aware having one or two warehouses will affect prices, but not even matching local prices is just asking to enter the fight handicapped.
