Climate change is having an influence on agriculture all around the world, but countries like India are particularly vulnerable due to their large population reliant on rainfed agriculture, excessive demand on natural resources, and insufficient adaptability to coping strategies. The warming trend in India over the last century has suggested a 0.6°C increase in air temperature. This situations exaggerated further in the hills of Nortrh East India where agriculture is primarily rainfed and complex-diverse-resource-poor. In such a scenario, the changing climate pattern in the region over the last century or two, combined with the flood-drought cycle, has transformed the character for the worse.
