The line "To win by attrition" suddenly him me on like a 10th rewatch.

All the others died. Last one to go was struck cancer he contracted from Agent Orange. Only Rambo survived. Not because ot was all one job and he was the only one to come out of it ailve. It was gradual. Few of them here. Another one there. Until only he was left. In a country full of civilians that can't even let him have a meal in oeace.

He won. Like they taught him to win. By attrition.

I read the book, Teasle's character was a ExMarine from the Korean War, that's why his ego wouldn't let shit go he escalated this shit show.
