My mom passed in 2015, and she was the one who bought me my first Gibson - an SG Faded in red when I was 15. I had been playing a few years and wanted nothing else but a Gibson with humbuckers.

It sounds cheesy, but when we put our music out there in the universe we honor those whose influence had an affect on our souls. We are spreading their light.

I use a Distortion (also double white) in the bridge of my LP and man that thing rips and roars. Great underrated choice for heavy LP tones!

It’ll be 1 year in February since getting my Les Paul standard 60’s in triburst. I love it even more now than ever before. Only gotten better with time. Your Les Paul sounds massive! Amazing tone man. Glad you’re happy with yours now. I have a Duncan Distortion in my Charvel, awesome sounding pickup. It can scream.

Double white looks good on it . I had wondered about double whites in an orange to amber color LP . You know since no one besides Dimarzio can make double cream and we all know that the double cream look amazing in them . That top is excellent too Ray .

I have a 2017 Standard HP and play a wide variety of stuff on it including metal... mine had the old G Force so I used the HipShot because I didn't have to drill and could keep the guitar looking stock if I ever wanted to go back, I swapped for a JB / Jazz... the Distortion sounds good in yours! I've got an EC-1000 with a Custom 5 that has more bass than the JB or Distortion.

I definitely had to tweak mine as well over the years but like you love it, it's a keeper! My father passed away quite a while ago but I definitely understand the meaning of things that remind us of them. Congrats, love the color and the top!

I have had a bunch of guitars and then 1 day I picked up a PRS SE Custom 24 35 Anniversary and that was it. My collection is down to only a few and mostly PRS. Why because it was what feels right to me...It makes me enjoy playing and that is what's important. I love the look of the Gibson Les Paul but just haven't ever found one that feels good to me Glad you were able to.

I got my 50's in Tabacco Burst around 6 Months ago. Wanted a Standard since I was 6. Best purchase I ever made, was perfect right out of the box

Dude, your natural top LP Custom is gonna be jealous!!! Ha! I have a 1978 LP Custom natural myself. But yeah - that LP Std is a sweet looking guitar...sounds good, too! Congrats on getting a good one!

I kinda like the contrast between those white pickups and cream pickup rings/pick guard. Also while Gibson Deluxe tuners look great, chancing them is a nobrainer especially if you play metal.
