As an American who visited Japan for 3 months for the first time back in 2015 i can confirm....







I spent the entire time just running from japanese people.

No sleeping

No eating

Just running as soon as that plane landed and didnt stop until i got back onto the plane.

yeah, yeah. My biggest concern if I were to ever visit japan is if I break some unwritten rule and end up being seen as inconsiderate. If I do ever visit, I want to make sure I do so with respect for the culture and the country.

This is just the Tourist Experience, even though you know the country and its customs, you become super apologetic because you don't want to be the insensitive foreigner.

In the States, I usually don't encounter anyone like that

...and when I was in Okinawa, I was a little nervous, but no more than usual. I don't think anyone noticed.
Though i did say sumimasen a lot in crowded areas, lol

It could just be me though. Maybe people who are used to being really social panic a lot more when they discover they can't rely on their communication skills? 🤷‍♀️
