I've met a lot of Norwegians and watched a lot of videos in Youtube. Regarding alphabet. This is one of the best. The thing is, Norwegian natives do not understand o and å are super confusing sound to foreigners. 😂

How do you pronounce the name "Fosaaen"?
At some point during World War 2, my dad, Knute, stopped off at a little town in Iowa to check on a relative. He asked at the local bar* for Mr. "Fawson" (how our branch of the family pronounces the name), but the bartender didn't know of him. A few minutes later, the bartender asked my dad if he meant Mr. "Foo-sown", or "Foo-sowen", or some such--and then gave dad the directions to the relative he was looking for.
*Based on the theory that, in a small town, even if the bartender didn't know every single person in that town, he probably knew every Norwegian.
