Sree, exceedingly valid points raised by U. The borders have to b tightly sealed no two issues about it. But i have my doubts also, plz look at the US of A, a most technologically advanced state with enough resources, is struggling like a Lion chasing a truck load of chickens.
Also I think, if u had included the information about the role of local police, land management & property ownership, fear of eviction r mass displacement of public with in the newly prescribed area then it would close the missing link in this video.

My narrative : My brother who had worked in BSF was once transferred from Rajasthan to West Bengal border area. He was aghast at the level of corruption existing in BSF right from the top to bottom. Whenever he got a chance, he would run away to Kolkata to relax & spend time with my Dad who was a Major in Army, was luckily posted there.

I will tell only this much more, before the exchange of enclaves between India & Bangladesh, my brother created a storm in the echelons of BSF, rightly so by refusing to take charge of areas where the boundary marker stones were missing. Such was the level of lethargy rot, set and pussedup inside the BSF.

And at the same time the friendly nation, Bangladeshi army had tortured, maimed, electrocuted Indian Jawans. Tied them to the bamboo poles before severing their heads and that too in peace time. Now U can imagine the enmity & barbarism of the so called regulars of east Pakis, towards India.🤔
All for inadvertently entering into Bangladeshi area. Again the culprit was No coordinates r marker stones.
But asusal the issue was never discussed in main stream media.

BJP has wasted 8 years like cowards when they could have raised an army of atleast one crore Hindu patriots to safeguard our country without any regular salary. But instead they chose to follow populism and waste our money after less important things than nation's security and their inaction in W.Bengal, Delhi, Kashmir etc. has already started giving them electoral losses which will continue next year. It seems they do not want to win by a big margin but just barely remain in power so that they do not have a majority in Rajya Sabha and thus they have an excuse as to why they cannot pass strong bills like making Hindu Rashtra, etc. The best hope for India is military rule during the next war with Pak/China and having Republic 2.0 with a New Constitution for exclusively Hindu Rashtra even if that requires another partition and total population exchange as wanted by Dr.Ambedkar..

Locate the wifi hotspots these drones are using when inside the border. Target them first. Generators were stolen during riots when Jio towers were vandalised. Look for high powered wifi connections. Shut them down immediately.

Last year CBI busted cattle smuggling in which BSF Commandant was involved along with others. Illegal migration of Bangladeshi to India or drug trafficking cannot work without BSF blessings.
The question is of intent, giving them more areas to patrol wont solve much.
Its just with Current Administration they know what is at stakes otherwise corruption in BSF is equally rampant

Under the law the GOI can take unilateral decision in these matters. States like Punjab and Bengal are habitually antagonistic towards Centre having these powers.

You started off well saying what is the fundamental difference of Punjab & Bengal vs Gujarat & Rajasthan i.e. high population density with farms and buildings along the border areas.
The solution was (according to you) to elect nationalistic govt. But that does not make the population density vanish. The state govt, whoever it may be, will have to listen to the people in the border regions.
