All about iWRITE's 10 Day Virtual Writing Workshop

iWRITE’s Virtual Creative Writing Workshop gives kids 7 to 12 years old the opportunity to learn how to create characters and stories with professional authors and illustrators.

iWRITE’s Virtual workshop is 10 days long. Your child can start as soon as you register, and they can go at their own pace. Your workshop account is available all school year. Each child logs into their own personal and safe portal that holds 10 days worth of creative writing and illustration video lessons (over 25 lessons total!) … each illustration lesson even includes a downloadable autographed copy from illustrator Ryan Shaw.

Authors get to see real author manuscripts and what books look like before they get published. Kids will learn how to create a dynamic character, storyline and the steps authors take to revise their final copy. From description to settings, genres, transitions, hooks, point of view and audience, we’ve got it all covered!

Kids will even receive tips on how to get ready to enter iWRITE’s annual publishing contest too! Ultimately this workshop is meant for independent learning. All your child needs is their computer, a pencil and paper. If you have any questions, we are always available at iWRITE to help!
