A gold and silver coins hoard was found by four treasure hunters with a metal detector in a field in Buckinghamshire and include 12 rare full gold coins from the time of the Black Death. The silver coins are believed to be from the reign of Edward I and II. Its finders, amateur metal detectorists, slept in a tent during the four days of excavations to prevent the collection being stolen. The collection will be sold with the earnings split between the men and the landowner.
