Strathspey Railway (22nd June 2018)

During a recent short break in Scotland, I paid a visit to the Strathspey Railway; a short branch line running between Aviemore and Broomhill (alias 'Glenbogle' from the old BBC series 'Monarch of the Glen').

On the day of my visit, Friday 22nd June 2018, the railway's resident BR Class 117 DMU SC51367 was working the service on this date. Having obtained a ticket and boarded, we take a ride on this unit to Broomhill via Boat of Garden, with a seat behind the cab offering views of the line ahead.

Also including (in photos only) BR Class 27 D5394 and Class 31 D5862, with DRS 68033 passing Aviemore on the Network Rail side of the station.
