My mom has never been in the picture, HOWEVER; my grandmother, whom I call "Mama" is my absolute idol and best BEST friend. We chat every day when I'm on the way to and from work and she is just literally the best mom in the entire world! I an so, SO grateful for her. God knew what he was doing by picking her to step up as my MOM. :) She and my Grandaddy adopted me when I was two years old. I'm 27 and married now and they are literally still my best, BEST friends!

I always looked up to my Nana who passed away a few years ago. She was very independent, so classy, always had her hair, makeup, nails done and always dressed fab. She went as far as she could in her career. Receiving her PhD in education. I've always been inspired but didn't feel I was smart enough...finally after years of going back and forth I decided to go back to school to get my degree. With a full time and being a wife and mother it was so tough but I went back to school full time and ended the semester with a 4.0. Second semester is going just as well! I pray every day that she knows how inspired I was by her and how much I love her ! I want nothing more than to make her proud of me :) ❤

I would say my grandmother is absolutely who inspires me, She passed away from breast cancer at age 54, i was in 10th grade. I miss her everyday. I truly believe she made a lasting impression on my life and those of everyone around her. She fought for 20 years against the disease, literally the strongest woman I've ever known. She was losing her hair but she never let it bring her down, she dressed to the nines and still worked very hard selling Mary Kay. She was so beautiful inside and out, she taught me so much but most importantly she taught me that even though you might be struggling inside you should still strive to be and look your best because you never know when an opportunity will come knocking, being a victim doesn't help anyone.
