Baker gambled and lost. After 2020 success, he had leverage. He should have approached the team with early extension request for 90M over 3 years. That would have given him a big raise over his rookie deal and would have been short enough to play into a second extension. He lost last year and this year for staying on the rookie deal. He will lose even more into the future because no one wants him.
