the derivative of x(a-bx) is a-2bx so the max is at x=a/(2b) so the max is a^2/(4b) which is less than a^2/b=pixa.great video

This proof is nice. But, how did he got this family of functions like this where set f(x)= some bizzare function?
How did he get the motivation? The first proof that pi is irrational by Lambert was way more tempting and motivating...
Is this his research or what?
