The fall of the Bashar Al-Assad's regime is testing Russia's influence in Syria. Russian naval vessels appear to have temporarily left the Tartous naval facility. This is Russia's only foreign naval base. Moscow says it would enter talks with the incoming leadership about the future of Russia's military presence in Syria. "Everything possible is now being done to get in touch with those involved in ensuring security and, of course, our military is also taking all the necessary precautions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
