The information contained in this video is incorrect. Synthetic does not have durability and longevity. They are disposable items—since the insulation loses loft with use and cannot be recovered (unlike down). Anyone who has owned a synthetic sleeping bag has experienced this.

If the point of this video really was to explain the technology, someone would have sliced open the fabric, gotten a good macro lens out, and shown us the actual thermoballs. Next to closeups of other synthetic insulation materials, as well as down of course.

I can’t believe the price tag on this coat. I just went to the NF store in NYC. This $200 jacket is made in Vietnam and it’s the same jacket as the Amazon Essentials one I bought for $35! Unbelievable.
