Crochet your own Dish Scrubby! I’ve been making my own dish scrubbies for years and now you can too. I used 3 of the most popular dish scrubby yarns to give you a variety of choices. At the end, one did reign supreme. Find out which yarn created the best dish scrubby!

Hook Size: J-10 6mm

Yarn Bee Scrub-ology Scrub It Yarn Pattern
Ch4, SS into the first stitch to create a loop
R1: Ch3, 14 DC into the center loop, SS into the first DC
R2: Ch3, 2 DC into each stitch, SS into the first DC (28 total stitches)
R3: Ch2, 1 HDC into every stitch, SS into the first HDC
Ch2 to end

Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn Pattern
Ch4, SS into the first stitch to create a loop
R1: Ch3, 14 DC into the center loop, SS into the first DC
R2: Ch3, 2 DC into each stitch, SS into the first DC (28 total stitches)
R3: Ch3, 1 DC into every stitch, SS into the first DC
Ch2 to end

Lion Brand Stitch Soak Scrub Yarn Pattern
First circle:
Ch4, SS into the first stitch to create a loop
R1: Ch3, 14 DC into the center loop, SS into the first DC
R2: Ch3, 2 DC into each stitch, SS into the first DC (28 total stitches
R3: Ch3, 2 DC in first stitch, 1 DC in next stitch. Repeat. SS into the first DC (42 total stitches)
Ch2 to end

Second Circle:
Do not Ch2 to end. Keep your crochet hook on at the end of R3.
Stack 2 circles on top of each other.
SC in every stitch to bind 2 circles together.
Ch2 to end

Ch: Chain
R1/2/3: Row 1/2/3
SS: Slip Stitch
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet

I’m glad for the review but I had a terrible experience with the pink scrubbie ! I tried crocheting, had to use with some cotton Peaches & cream to add some scrub, not a fan of that ! The last one, yellow seems to me, not even going to mess with it ! The first one, I’m like you I want it to dry bfor I use again, I’d been dying to try I’m glad you convinced me not to ! I’ll stick to my plastic scrubbers, I crochet around them & they do the job, I’ve had ladies buy from me & toss them in dishwasher, voila ready to wash dishes again!

Thanks for the review! I think I’ll skip the Lion brand, I like to enjoy crocheting my projects! 😉 I really like the sparkle yarn. It’s not that difficult, and the end product is worth it. It’s rather pretty too. The absolute worst is the Red Heart scrubby yarn. Terrible stuff to work with.
