Every time I listen to Bill Evans he sets me in a certain kind of mood! Kind of nostalgia and sadness and happines at the same time. Strange!!

One of the most unique voices in jazz. Kind Of Blue couldn't have been made without him. This is what genius looks and sounds like.

It's so rare to have a uniquely identifiable sound. So good.

Eddie Gomez really filled this out so nicely with Evans.

This is quickly becoming my favorite Bill Evans composition. And considering he also wrote Waltz For Debby and Re: Person I Knew among many other classics, that’s saying a LOT.
Correction: THIS IS MY FAVORITE BILL EVANS COMPOSITION. AND I LOVE EVERY SINGLE RECORDING OF IT. PERIOD.

I am not the first person to say this but he sounds like orchestra. He is the director. His right and left hand, the baton and every member of his group knows intuitively where to go.

I always love piano like this because you expect some giant horn band to come in and start blasting but it’s just left with rhythm and a double bass. It’s like the piano and the rythym section are the only ones there, all alone. I own a pretty rare performance of George Wallington on record from an album I got from Japan, which every version I’ve heard on YouTube have this loud and in your face horn section. But on the vinyl record, it’s just him. It’s much more impactful that way I think. Like being alone in stage

And the great, much lamented Eddie Gomez on bass. What a band this was.
