Ένα επιτυχημένο πρόγραμμα για τα αποτσίγαρα/ Α succesful project for the cigarette butts

Η Aegean Rebreath γνωρίζοντας πως η θαλάσσια ρύπανση προέρχεται κυρίως από τη χερσαία ζώνη και έχοντας ως αρχή ότι η προστασία του περιβάλλοντος μας αφορά όλους, σχεδίασε και υλοποίησε, σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Ραφήνας-Πικερμίου, τον Οργανισμό Λιμένος Ραφήνας και με την υποστήριξη της BΑΤ Hellas, ένα καινοτόμο πρόγραμμα για την αντιμετώπιση του ζητήματος της αλόγιστης απόρριψης των αποτσίγαρων. Ένα χρόνο μετά και το έργο έχει αποδειχθεί βέλτιστη πρακτική, καθώς οι ειδικοί κάδοι που τοποθετήθηκαν σε βασικά σημεία της Ραφήνας συγκέντρωσαν περισσότερα από 71.000 αποτσίγαρα και πέτυχαν τη μείωση της αλόγιστης απόρριψης τους κατά 65%. Το έργο ενέπνευσε και άλλα μέλη του δικτύου Μπλε Δήμων να ζητήσουν την υλοποίηση της ίδιας πρακτικής. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό η Aegean Rebreath και η BΑΤ Hellas σε συνεργασία με τις τοπικές αρχές αναμένεται να αναπτύξουν παρόμοιες δραστηριότητες στο νησί της Νάξου.

Aegean Rebreath, taking into consideration that marine pollution comes primarily from the land and having as a principle that the protection of the environment concern us all, designed and implemented, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rafina-Pikermi, the Rafina Port Authority and the support of BAT Hellas, an innovative program to address the issue of reckless disposal of cigarette butts. A year after the project has been proven as a best practice since the special bins that were placed in key spots of the city collected more than 71.000 cigarette butts and achieved the reduction of the reckless disposal of cigarette butts by 65%. The project inspired other members of the Blue Municipaities network to request the implementation of the same practice. In this context, Aegean Rebreath and BAT Hellas in cooperation with the local authorities will now introduce similar activities in Naxos island.
