Is the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX a BARGAIN Lancer EVO to BUY?

The Eclipse GSX was produced during a time where Mitsubishi was at the top of their game. Under the hood is a modded 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and AWD getting power to the ground. The exterior of the Eclipse really showcases the styling of the 1990's with lots of rounded edges, lowered height, factory wing an Enkei wheels.. On the inside you will find a mostly stock interior with a few modifications. Is the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX a used import car you should BUY?

When I hear Mitsubishi, i do not think “Evo.” I think 3000GT VR4, Galant VR4, Eclipse GSX, Etc. The Evo is the icing on the cake!

Problem is finding a clean GSX that hasn't been modified or rust free.

i miss clean looking cars like this Eclipse, the Supra mark iv, nissan 300zx. New cars are too busy looking and too much plastic.

The second gen eclipse was by far the greatest. The fact that they offered 5 models and 3 engine options was insane. I miss my old '95 GS so much.

I really appreciate the owner keep the exterior looking stock but have done some modifications on this GSX. Looking good as a sleeper.

I've owned all 3 DSMs and always keep my eyes peeled. They had a big impact on the import scene. You just don't see these anymore.

I miss the retro looks of older cars like this. So nostalgic, plain and simple.

I had a 1997 GST 5-speed... loved it. Fun car to drive in town.

Eclipse had 4 generations. I fell in love with the 2G Eclipse. Still my favourite car out there. I now own a 4G 2007 Eclipse GT.

That generation Eclipse GSX and Diamond Star platform mate Eagle Talon TSI was always my favorite by far. One of the best looking convertibles also. A design that was way before it's time.

I had a 1997 2G GSX way back in high-school that was a hand me down from my dad. He bought it new, then gave it to me for my first car. Thing was a money pit, my dad had gone through 1 motor due to crank walk while he had it. Then I went through a motor and a transmission while I had it. They're fun and easy to mod but they are huge money pits, all DSMs are headaches and break down a lot lol. That car left me stranded so many times lol, ill never forget it lol. I ended up trading it in for a 98 VR4 3000gt a few years later. That car was amazing, but it too had its issues and back in the day, not many shops were willing to work on them due to how complex they were, aside from the dealership. So when the Evo X came out, I traded my VR4 3kgt in for it. But now, I wish I had held on to my VR4. Looking back, aside from their issues, I miss the 2 door JDM sport coupes, they will never make anything like them ever again.

Cupholders were an after thought from the 70's-90's, but they always made sure you had multiple ashtrays lol
