As someone who always chooses the stairs over the elevator, I now have a fear of stairs

So, from what I understand, at least 3 people get stuck in a time loop where 1 has just gotten out of 1 with little memory of it, 1 of the new people accidentally dies, & after 35 years the older person dies while the younger person gets free only to lose their memory & get trapped in the next time loop. Meanwhile, their other selves in an alternate reality live normal lives where the younger person experiences 35 years of happiness while the older experiences 35 years of sadness. Finally, the order is 35 years trapped on a train, trapped on the bamboo raft, trapped on the road with the gas station, trapped on the staircase, trapped in the hotel hallway, & trapped in a store with an escalator where once the older person dies the red book goes to the younger person which contains information for them to learn about the life their other self has lived.

It’s like a metaphor for carrying trauma — traumatic incident and now your stuck in that place of mind for the next 35 yrs passing that trauma on where you go …

If I had been in the stairwell situation, my curiosity likely would have gotten the best of me and I would have jumped, thus my entire existence would have been falling and likely scaring the crap out of the other person with me because he or she'd have to see my eventually dead body constantly falling past them.
