Challenger Hood Scoop Conversion

Looked at mine to do the same thing. Problem is, that air diverter that was taken off the back was to keep air and water from pushing all up under the sound/heat shield under the hood. The diverter sent all the air and most of the water back through the narrow opening, into the narrow opening in the hood that goes to the engine bay. Without the diverter, instead of all the air going in and into the port in the hood and into your engine compartment, most of the air and water are now going in to the space between your hood and the liner. Not sure I want water, dirt, etc. going in there and sitting long term. This is why the '14 and older conversion kits included a plastic duct that went to the hole in the hood. I'm not doing this until I can figure out how to make some ducts to make all the air go where it's supposed to go. Thanks, though, for showing how easy it is to take apart the scoop for modification. Gave me some other ideas too.

is there any risk when you wash you car? the water will not get into an after market CAI?

Crafty. Wish the charger had a hood scoop. Thing runs too hot
