what it's like to read fanfiction (ao3 comment)

I found this very dramatic comment on a very questionable fanfiction and had to share it with you all.
I will not be sharing the fic link here as I don't want to pay for your therapy, lol.

i love ao3 comment sections because you get comments that are like long ass paragraphs documenting everything they loved about the story and writing in great detail and right below that there is a comment just saying something like "i cant wait to see ____ get fucked by

I once read the darkest, most twisted fic I'd ever laid eyes on. It was downright distressing and yet I read all 400, 000+ words, all while hating it and myself for reading it. Once I was done, I swore I'd never touch that cursed text again.
I've read it three times by now. What an absolute masterpiece.

Reminds me of a very well written horror style fic that was deleted a few years back. One of the main characters had part of his arm cut off and the next morning the servants- so numb to everything- cooked the meat without thinking. Then the antagonist, although equally horrified, made him eat it. I've never been so disgusted and impressed at the same time on the skill it took to write that scene. That author is why I understand the appeal of horror now, but equally am afraid to go near it. Also might be why I'm vegan lol.
