John McEnroe Dissed Serena Williams and Didn't Apologize

Tennis great John McEnroe told NPR that Serena Williams would rank No. 700 if she played on the men's circuit, and his response to the media firestorm is the worst part.

John did not diss Serena Williams. He was respectful to her. He told that she is the greatest woman tennis player of all time. There is no reason to apologise for an opinion which he is more than qualified to give.

Not only was he one hundred percent right but we all saw Serena Williams admit that she would get dominated by men on David Letterman

I don’t know why this is being called a diss or disrespectful. Only people who never played or don’t understand the sport will think he was wild. Serena herself admitted that Men’s tennis is like a totally different sport to the Women’s. John’s opinion was based on his experience in the sport and guess what, Serena went on to lose 6-0, 6-1 to a 200th ranked male player. So John was not so wrong after all.

For those that say....why say "female" it's because she would get crushed if she played men. She did play against a male in 1998 in an exhibition and lost 6-1. Granted she was only 17 or so at the time and 1 year before winning her first slam.

She might not dominate the sport against male players the way she has competing against women, but I think she would rank in the top 10 competing against men.
Considering how she has dealt with adversity and challenges through her career I'm sure that if she faced tougher competition Serena would rise to the challenge and find a way to improve her game. Serena is so strong mentally and physically, she's an incredible human being. I am grateful I got to see her whole career, it was inspiring. Serena you're a beautiful woman in every way.
