Rule the Waves - ep 1 - Japan 1900 - Let's Play Rule the Waves

Rule the Waves is a hard core strategy game that I'm going to try to Let's Play for you. Now, I know these games can be a BIT dry, so I've added some pictures to the gameplay, and cut a few things and condensed a few others. I hope this Let's Play, which is a little different from our usual stuff, is enjoyable!

(Please note that due to a content ID claim (I used a song I thought was clear of copyright, but it wasn't) there's some sound distortion in the middle as the song has been removed by YouTube to prevent any issues occurring)

I'd love to know if you all would like to see more of this Let's Play (the next episodes will be shorter), and let me know if you'd like a change of musical style (sea shanties?). Likewise, drop me some ideas for ship class names in the comments!

If you like this sort of stuff, check out the other videos on our channel for Kerbal Space Program mod videos, game tips and tricks, and builder and sandbox game let's plays!

Very cool. I actually bought this, but have not taken the time to figure it out yet (due to the lathe interface). This helped a lot; at least now I can see roughly how it operates. Very much looking forward to digging into it as soon as time permits. Thanks for an entertaining and informative let's play!

Love to see more of this, gotta love games that take a very utilitarian approach to UI.

My favourite is Aurora 4X, it is possibly the most in-depth space strategy game, and most resembles a database managing software and you need to play it with dual monitors or get very good at juggling windows.

This reminds me of visual basic for some reason.

Heck, this is so Windows 3.1! It also differs so much from World or Warships, which might the equivalent today. Or even Endless Space. So many turn based strategy games today would have started out like this. Loaded from floppy disks no less.

I so remember playing this sort of game in the 80s. Very much like a dungeon crawler which I remember as simply "North-South-East-West". Text, lists and basic forms.

Like to see you cram this into a 2-minute format!
