Finally got my main to 1580 last week. One hone off my artist to 1580 as well. After this, getting others to 1540, improving their builds, and parking them there for a while.

Not everything has to be about gold.
Assuming SG doesn't put out catch up mechanics for Akkan outside of the Path of the SE event, you are looking at 3 months to gear a 1580. If in the next 3 months you decide 'you know I wish I had my "X" character at Vold' it's not just the cost of gold to push it but the 3 months of grinding Akkan from there.

You never get your gold back regardless because it is not an investment. You are spending an in game resource on your in game characters so that you can run in game content with them. If you enjoy running clown/brel/kaya NM then stick with characters at that Ilvl. If you would rather run Kaya/AKkan/Vold NM push those characters and get the set upgraded.

Lost Ark is not the global exchange, when they finally shut the servers down it's not like you have a cash out option to get your investment back.

i think gatekeeping is also class reliant, sometimes having someone with good synrgey is better than having a highr ilvl

This is true. I parked my alts in 1540 as long as I could because I know it's efficient. My alts has like 5-6k bound leap ea KEKW. But I recently start to hone some of them to 1580 just because I got bored doing clowns, nm kaya, brel etc... I want to do something new with my alts and that's it.

GUYYS THIS IS STILL RELEVANT.
I just pushed one of my alts from 1545 to 1580, it costed me 130-140k gold (90~100k honing rest is oreha's cost), and I still need to build my 5x3+1. it is not worth it to push without an event especially if u are a new/returning player.

the gem system in this game is not keeping up with the honing system. So, pushing more alts up requires a good amount of gems. for newer players keep in mind that gems plays a big part too.

Running full roster of paladins, +3 more alt paladins. My roster 1620/1600/1600/1596/1596/1587/1551/1540, full lvl 10 gems. no gatekeeping ever. so much fun.

I’m at main 1620, alt 1610, 1610, 1605, 1605, and 4 1580-1590s. I’m pretty much always out of gold and silver because I just spend it on honing and the passive gems I get from all sources go towards my alts. I have 3 chars at all 9gems and working on my 4th one right now. I feel like if u enjoy the class, push it to whatever u went but I do agree that 1540 as a gold earning alt is def the most worth. I would do 6 1540s and park there until I had bound mats to push them to 1560 and then 1580 for free pretty much. The gold saved would be used on gems and or more 1540 alts.

For those who are new Right now Lvl7 gems are free and also 1540 costs 0 gold and also you get free 5x3 for all characters.
so yeah this video definitely saved me ton of gold.

and as soon as they are 1580 and u do akkan and u buy a chest... the gold earned is even lower holy moly...

I have almost 2 1600s and the rest of my gold earners at 1580. I mostly pushed cuz I love akkan since its an incredibly fun raid! But I also pushed to build up bounds, unbounds and also to avoid the Clown gold nerf. Part of that decision was the fact that id never get accepted into any Voldis HM lobby with LOS18 (kadan trapped at 14 cards away). All of my characters have at least 1 lvl 9 and I love playing all my chars more than ever!

I know im not seeing any of that gold I invested back basically ever.. And I probably could have had a 1620 if I decided to spend that gold on my main instead. But its fun! And that matters to me!

I think you forgot some valuables points tho.
- 1600 is a better place than 1580. First, you're stronger so you can roll stomp your NM Akkan even with lv 7 gems, easily.
Same with Sonavel, which is easier than hanumatans.
Also, 1600 chaos donj start droping 20k golds embers, and legendary selector packs cards. That's huge.
- Kakul & Brelshaza NM gold nerfs are probably coming with Voldis in 2 weeks. So there is also that.
- Lower mats will lose value/price with time anyway, cause less and less people will need them.
- And finally, Voldis NM is a 4 men raid, so by going 1600, you have 2 4 men raids and 1 legion which has only 3 gates and pretty easy to roll stomp.

But i think it mostly depend if you're playing Solo or not, if you have a group of friends or a guild, it's just better, if not, i dont know.

i see you absolutely right. even tho im sharing gems on all my characters, just the honing cost roi is too much (only doing rested dailies) 1540 is the sweetspot

I’m currently working on pushing my SE to 1580. She’d be my only class at that level. I do feel like it’s a complete waste of time and resources tho since as soon as any party leader sees my 81 roster lvl, no title having, deep dive 18, not lvl 60 char having ass I’m getting gatekept regardless lmao

Out of curiosity. I just checked the PF on NAE. There were 18 normal Akkan lobbies looking for supports that were filled with on-or-near ilvl dps with lvl 7 gems (some even had the audacity to have lvl 5 gems for that content) and at least half of them were not filled in over 40 minutes. People should really STOP pushing their dps to 1580 or higher with ZERO investment - it does NOT work anymore - item level is not everything, and if you do decide to go for it then don't you dare complain about gatekeeping because there is absolutely nothing attractive about your character in that ilvl bracket, period. Nobody needs your cheapo dps for Akkan and hard Kayangel sorry - decent supports will never join those lobbies, and good lobbies won't accept you either because you are outcompeted by much better geared alts of other people's mains.

Do what Dubla says - park your alts at 1540 and get them to 1550ish ilvl with free taps to be more competitive, and don't push further if you are not willing to invest into your characters appropriately. I am so tired of people who are pumping out minimum investment 1580 characters out of the conveyer one after another and clogging up the PF with super low quality lobbies, wasting hours of their own time every week to no end. And even if you invest into your 1580+ characters appropriately, you are doing it purely for fun / more end game content experience - you are definitely not seeing your gold back that's for sure. The linear increase in gold generation coupled with exponential honing cost increase is specifically designed to bottleneck your progression on all characters at once unless you spend a lot of money on the game. Stop playing the game as if you had 6 mains because 1580+ characters without good quality 5x3+1 and lvl 9/10 gems are not "mains"- it's more like an economic burden in your roster that nobody is excited to see in their lobbies and will face gatekeeping / supportless lobbies on a weekly basis. Sorry if it all sounded a bit rune, but people need to wake up and realize how this game is structured and how expectations increase with higher gear scores.

All gold earners are 1600+ only souleater is 1590 and will be 1600 next reset. I consider an alt a non gold earner.
