Mate, realistic gunfire and massive explosions can still be heard with the t2..ive had the t1 sold it for the t2 and its an awesome headset.the t1 was very uncomfy.i had to take it off my head after 30mins but the t2 I leave on for hours!! Much more comfortable! Picture and sound quality is exactly the same as the t1..t2 is the best system eva!!!

they say it's not exactly twice, more like 1000 vs 700 bucks or so. Some also believe HMZ-T2 have less to zero image parts out of focus issues, so if you have somewhere to try out both models, please do and post your comments here. Much appreciate that!

I'm not sure why you would. HMZ-T1 headphones are quite good, especially for the type of material they are playing, which is generally voice and noisy.
Anyway, if you plan to use your own phones, it is moderately easy to remove the build-in phones to acces you ears with any heapdone you like. Then you may connect new phones to HMZ circuit board or any other audio output you have synced with your video. See my disassembly video.

Well Im testing the HMZ-T2 here and think its actually better then the T1.. I mean in Crysis 3 I CAN use 1080p resolution and also I can use my own Razer Chimaera headphones with ease. Though It does lack some other stuff I like on T1.. like the extra pads and more flexible headmounts :S

I think that depends on the widespreadness of the device, but at this point it is save to assume that no it doesn't.

you also can use 1080p on HMZ-T1 as well. You don't really get that, it is dowscalled to 720p on both models, since -T1 and -T2 have a physical resolution of 720p.
Tell us about the "soapy" image on the sides? Is the whole image crisp and clear on H2, or does it still have slightly out-of-focus edges?

Better lenses doesn't make it twice expensive, does it? Anyway, thanks for your input I didn't know they actualy changed anything in the optics. Personally, I will consider updating when it becomes fullhd or imax or whatever will be the fashion on a couple of years.

I try to respect my viewers and appreciate their time, so I try not to take time as if I'm on a toilet at the moment. There're so many unscriped, unprepared revies on youtube (usually the are "unboxing" or "unpacking") with pauses and head scratching, that are a pain to watch.
So for my channel, the shorter the better :) More chance that the video will be watched to the end.

I got my t1 for ~730$, while t2 is offered ~1400$ at greymarket. It is not even offially imported to my country yet.
Yeah, I've seen the disasembly video. It looks like that's quite tedious process since you have to completely strip everything to get access. Right?

Shame and kudos for sony. Kudos for producing probably the best head mounted display to date. Shame for not properly testing the product for long term comfort and usability. I have a HMTZ-1 and did the welders mask mod allowing for absolutely no pressure on forehead and nose.
Had the HMTZ-2 been engineered for 1080p I would have bought one in a heartbeat.

Nvidia 3d vision is just a shutter-glasses mechanism with high-refresh 120hz monitor, isn't it?It basically rapidly switches two 2d images for left and right eye? Now they just sell you a bundle of GPU, monitor and glasses. I don't know how the software driver works exactly, but people are definetely using HMZ with both Nvidias and ATIs to play 3d games.It would be stupid for NVidia to support their solution only, staying away from customers already owning a 3D-capable display. SBS/TB are built-in
