Water quantity and quality are shaping up as the prominent issues impacting planning and growth management in the coming years. The Florida Legislature has indicated that state water policy will be the focus of the 2015 session. This two-part program will provide a timely discussion of these issues to identify the challenges posed and the solutions sought. This is part Part II of the program, which will focus on water quality concerns. Specifically, this second session would focus on the essential infrastructure required to comply with more stringent water quality standards, the effects of codifying these standards into comprehensive plans and development codes and the outlook for water quantity legislation at the state and federal levels.
