Dont know if anyone explained this yet, but enemies live with 1hp because anomalies in general cannot trigger the killing blow on enemies for some reason - its not a bug but core mechanic explained in tutorials

Hey, you asked because of the 1HP thing, this seems to happen with every character when using an EX or ult, where it waits to execute the enemy until the ability is nearly done. I am quite certain that this is an artistic choice to make the finisher screen look cooler, they probably have manually set time windows where the finisher can land on when using abilities. This is also why the finisher screen always look so cool. Just one of the many tricks this games uses to make the animations that much better.

The reason why this also happens mid combat and not just on the last kill is probably some code artifact from the thing I just mentioned and they will probably fix it as soon as they notice it.
