it's true man, SONY is way ahead of everyone, they r ALWAYS the frist 2 make major innovation & leap in CE industry, they have no competition but themselves. the way SONY is being managed is crazy,

one story about how they made their already world smallest walkman even smaller back in the day.

the project lead told the president, that was the best they could do, the then president asked for a bucket of water, dropped the prototype in, and said, if u see bubbles, then it can made smaller.

I love how in the last two seconds he said "and it starts at 1900 dollars" really quick to downplay the high price tag

I'm not saying this isn't an amazing laptop though, its the best 13'' laptop I've ever seen

well the other things that many companies can do, however the things that i mentioned are simply the ones ONLY SONY can do at least at this moment. weight, battery life, build quality, and new SSD config, and actually the new 512G quad SSD would cost you around 1500 dollars. yet NOBODY is doing it yet, im sure others will soon copy as they always do.

@TheElectrixShow How is it low-end or re-branded? Sony doesn't market it as anything but a GT 330M. This is not really a rip off because it has a Core i5/i7 cpu and fits a decent GPU into such a small size without overheating or being large and weighing a ton. Look at all the other computers, even the 13" Macbook Pro, and you will see that the specs on this blow everything else out of the water. If you want a gaming laptop, you should get an Origin Eon 18.

the form factor, not the ports placement. the only problem I had with the last gen Z was it's not flat back to the front, this one is flat like the new X and the Macs. nothing to do with how they positioned the ports.

now finally, you "fixed" the form factor, thank you SONY, the only problem I had with my last gen Z was the shape.

backlight is very unnecessary (well not if u actually know HOW to type like myself), but a good addition; very beautiful made with the BEST material int he business, also improved upon already amazing floating keyboard design which was FIRST introduced by SONY back in 2003 with the almighty X505, and extremly cheap for what you are getting, SONY is killing the rest

the TT is 5100, and not to mention others like japan only carbon fiber model X505 was about 5000 back in 2003, and the 505 series i got thru 1997 to 2001 were like about 3000 each. so no, 2500 is really cheap in toda's money. but like u said for a student yes and for someone who has a regular job, yes it might be expensive.

so for me, value is when something is valuable no matter the cost. and one thing is only a GREAt value when it's very valuable. so in that sense, there u have it.

@NeoDevilMan You are so ignorant, this Vaio Z has a better screen than a 17 inch MBP! It has an insane resolution (1600x900 on 13 inch!) and it's made in carbonfibre and aluminum. Plus it's as powerful as the MBP while it's a lot smaller. This laptop has everything, but you have to pay a lot for it

When you get to use this baby, you'll know why. Quad Intel SSD. Ultra quick! But the build quality is insane. nearly the entire top half of of the unit is cut from a solid block of aluminium, titanium chassis and carbon fiber body. 100% Adobe colour space screen. ITS A WORK OF ART BUDDY!

you were in the vaio P video too as well. and some other videos sony related vids, all you do is just to make people piss off. your clearly have knowledge however you don't put them to good use. thank u for pointing out, see again, those ppl they just poop out watever they wanna say without any FACTS to back it up. the weight alone KILLS every Mac. then the new quad SSD configuration is about 1500 dollars alone for a 512G. not to mention true HD LED backlit screen, killer battery life, carbon fiber casing and so on. that`s why whoever says it`s over priced is crazy, this is the BEST value you could get in a laptop yet.

not in this new Z's case, u do understand this Quad configuration is a very unique Sony innovation that writes data in parallel to four SSDs, which NOBODY has done it, thus innovation, to cut down weight, more important about 3 times fasters than conventional SSD. so like I said, 512G in this new config would easily run u over 1500 dollars.

again, it's the money talk, 2500 for some might be expensive, but it's really cheap to think about it, my current Zs are at 5500 dollars each, and
