I am very excited!
I think Porsche can do it.
48 cars is going to be a blast to watch!
I'm not hoping for chaos but it could be like that. lol

Very excited for this. I'm going in person and this is my first time attending an IMSA race.

It makes sense that IMSA would come to the brickyard with one of its key team shareholders owning the track, but im not complaining since it give us more GTP racing.
I'll definitely be camping out next year for the 6hr event.

I would like to see them use the infield loop section F1 did when they raced at lndy as I think the current layout with just the quick chicane onto the back straight as the loop could produce some better entertainment in multi-class racing with the 2 hairpin turns being more troublesome for faster cars being stuck behind lslower cars than a flat out chicane.

Still wish Road America got added to the Michelin Endurance Cup, but should still be interesting overall

I am extremely excited for this race coming up at Indianapolis and I remember the last time IMSA ran at "The Brickyard" almost a decade ago the year of the reunification of the championship. I have to go out on a limb and say the #31 Action Express Racing Whelen Cadillac might just pull a victory off here. They were the team to win at Indianapolis in that 2014 event the last time IMSA raced at "The Brickyard". 48 cars on the circuit for the race will be amazing, and yes, for those who may be confused, the proposal is, for next year in 2024, I believe IMSA wants to have Indianapolis be a round of the Michelin Endurance Cup with a 6-hour race. But not this year.

With 48 cars I wonder how crowded the pit lane is going to be? There are 33 spots for the Indy 50. Looking at the rules for each series, both GTP and Indy cars are 201 inches in length, LMP2 cars "fractionally" longer ( I could not find specifications for GT3. The Mercedes, and to a lesser extent the Aston Martins, visually appear to be "very" long). Unless they extend the pit lane further towards to first and/or last turns, adding another 15 pit stalls appears to be a major undertaking. Next year with the race being a 6 Hour Endurance Cup race, even with the elimination of LMP3, new GTP manufacturers and/or customer teams, additional LMP 2 and likely more GT3 cars could push the entry list over 50.

I'm predicting Porsche vs BMW for the win at Indy

Would most people say that the Indy road course isn't that great? I saw nascar there this year and it didn't seem like the best track. It's certainly not Dayton road course level right?
